Trainer D Netto leading Phenomenal Cruise (Deepak Singh Up), winner of The Kitty Bank Cup

D.Netto’s youngster Phenomenal Cruise (Declaration Of War-Firebird) scored an encore in impressive fashion in the Kitty Bank Cup. Phenomenal Cruise settled nicely along the rails in third with Inzaire on a start to finish trip followed by After Eight. Passing the 300 metres board Phenomenal Cruise was brought on from the outside and the gelding sped past the relentless Inzaire. Mega Million came up late to beat Inzaire for the second place. After Eight ended up fourth.

S.S.Faisal Hassan trained Negress Pearl (Rebuttal-Ganga Purna) showed a good turn of foot in the last 100 metres to win the Jagtial Plate, a 1200 metres sprint for horses rated 42 to 62. Entering the home stretch Mandy and Big Flash were fighting hard to out-beat the other. As the winning post drew closer Negress Pearl burst into a massive gallop and sped past to score. Big Flash beat Mandy convincingly for the second place.

A longshot from Anupam Sharma’s stables, Lord Gift (West Virginia-Taurina) pulled it off in the race for maiden 3 year olds, the division I of the Tanasha Plate. The bay colt had settled well to chase the leader Conroy. Inside the last 200 metres the favourite All Star General started to move up strongly from the outside and was looking good when Lord Gift pushed its way from the inside and travelled the better to register a maiden win in the 12th attempt. Conroy finished third followed by Good Opinion.

In the lower division, debutante Dippy Dip (Western Aristocrat-Blue Vision) from trainer Zoheb Shaikh’s yard was ridden by Shailesh Shinde to score. Improving gradually Dippy Dip had taken charge passing the last 600 metres and maintained a two lengths lead right through the straight. Titus and Withrosemakeup finished second and third respectively, in a close finish. Negress Princess ended up fourth.

R.H. Sequeira trained Ashwini (Stern Opinion-Stroke Of Luck) made every post a winning post in the Akkanna Plate, the opener of the day. Shooting off to the front as the gates opened Ashwini  opened a lead of over two lengths and kicked on in the straight with Invasion chasing the winner all through the 6 furlongs . Take A Bow and Shandaar finished third and fourth respectively.

Laxman Singh trained filly (Vijay’s Empress (Ace-Gold Marie) won the division I of the Grand Entry Plate by a lengthening margin. After being in front of the field for about two furlongs Vijay’s Empress had settled back in tird close to the rails. As they turned for home the filly slipped in along the rails and grabbing the lead quickly, pulled away from the rest. Princess, New Comer and Jayin filled the frame in that order.

Wine N Dine (Noverre-Lenwade) gave trainer K. Satheesh another point to his tally while winning the lower division. The grey mare was in fourth as they showed up on the straight and jockey Nakhat Singh pulled her out to make a bid from the outside. The 5 years old responded readily to the rider’s urgings and went past the front runners and spared a little over a length to the late finishing Blaze Of Glory. Chemical Daddy and Angels Bay finished third and fourth respectively.
