Mr Zeyn Mirza & trainer Bharath Singh leading Castlebridge (P Trevor Up), winner of The Shapoorji Pallonji Million

Classic winner Castlebridge made a splendid comeback after a couple of below par efforts in the Mumbai season winning the Shapoorji Pallonji Million, the plum event run over a sprint in fine style on Saturday.

The favourite Lincoln from Mumbai champion  trainer  Pesi Shroff's yard, who was advantageously placed in at  the scales hit the front in his attempt to make every post a winning one and held the advantage till the final furlong before Trevor packed punch on the Bharath Singh ward and the second in demand at the bet ting riunbg stormed through to score in emphatic fashion. Captain Courage ran on to finish third ahead of Denny Crane.

Hyderabad challenger Ambitious Approach provided the nawabv camp a big reason to smile winning the principal added attraction, the Civil Services Cup in convincing fashion. The Ganapathy schooled Turf Magic set a decent pace all through the sprint trip before she retired approaching the distance post . Srinath astride the winner at this juncture stole a march and put the issue beyond doubt  in  the final furlong. Justice Angel who had finished second in her last effort again made a late dash to gain the runner-up berth edging out Turf Magic while the favourite only managed to make the frame.

Darius Byramji- trained Psychic Force was backed to the exclusion of his 11 runners in the Moonlight Dancer Plate and the on-money favourite cruised home to the delight of his supporters Spiritous ran on well at end to talke the second spot while Decisive held off Zhu Zhu Zest to take the third position.

Lesser fancied Ocean Park, from the stables of trainer Imtiaz won the upper division of the Flirting Vision Plate run over  a mile in fine style. The young Mumbai pro Amit took Ocean Park to the front soon after coming under the starter's flag and never let the initiative slip cantering home at end. The favourite Purity who failed to gain a favourable position early on in the race again finished second.

Dominic schooled  Black Whizz after a ding-dong battle with Shamsadas Girl in the final two furlongs managed to win the Star Supreme Plate in the hands of T S Jodha. Amazonite who was also strongly fancied performed below par and failed to make the frame. Andhra King who took the third spot will earn his cornbill in the weeks ahead.

Sharat Kumar- trained Perfect Legacy dropped the biggest bombshell in the Chettinad Stud Plate edging out the well fancied Tamara much to the chagrin of the followers of form. The rankoutsider piloted by G Amit took a sizeable lead before the field negotiated the final curve and then held on gamely to peg back the favourite in a close finish.

Siyouni finished with a flourish from way off the pace to take the third position. The lower division of the Chettinad Stud Plate saw two contestants garner good support. The Gregory Sandhu schooled Hanko was backed heavily and was the overwhelming favourite. Money came also on the Sharath Kumar-trained Reczai who was backed down to (4/1) after being quoted at (7/1) at the start. The Sharath Kumar ward gained the day in the hands of apprentice jockey M Naveen while Hanko could only finish a tame third behind Amazing Love.

The lesser fancied Cold Frontier from trainer Ar jun Manglor kar's yard powerfully piloted by leading pro S John came up trumps in the Y S Surender Memorial Cup run over a distance of seven furlongs. The favourite Sedulous after taking charge and shaping like a winner in the final furlong lost out to the better finisher at end.
