INCIDENTS :

On a request from Trainer Rehanullah Khan, permission was granted for his Jockey P. S. Chouhan to carry 3 kg. overweight on CHAMPAGNE.

On a request from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, permission was granted for his Jockey David Allan to carry 3 kg. overweight on RUFFINA.

On a request from Trainer Bezan Chenoy, permission was granted for his Jockey C. Alford to carry 2.5 kg. overweight on ST. ANDREWS..

After being stalled, COSTA DEL SOL (Dashrath Singh) rushed the front gates. The horse was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. NEW ENGLAND (C. S. Jodha) who was in the adjoining stall also got restless, as such, the gelding was taken out and re-stalled.

LUCAS (S. Zervan) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

At the start, ST. ANDREWS (C. Alford, dr. 9) jumped inwards and went across COSTA DEL SOL (Dashrath Singh, dr.8) who was marginally slow to begin.

Passing 200 metres, YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in on to SHIP ROCK (N. S. Parmar) forcing it inwards, on to which CELTIC PRINCE (S. J. Sunil) was tightened along the rails and lost its footing and dropped back on to DANCING PRANCES (T. S. Jodha) who had to be checked. On being questioned after the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount suddenly leaned inwards not giving him sufficient time to correct his mount . As the same was borne out in the video recording, no action was initiated other than noting the explanation.

In the final stages of the race, ST. ANDREWS (C. Alford) drifted out under pressure thereby carrying ACCOLADE (P. Trevor) and LUCAS (S. Zervan) outwards. Jockey C. Alford has been cautioned.

After the race, DANCING PRANCES, YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY (examined on 15/01/2018) and ST. ANDREWS (examined on 15/01/2018) were trotted and found to be sound. YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY had an abrasion at both the hind fetlock and ST. ANDREWS had a cut injury at the right hind cannon.
